Post-separation Counselling
Audrey Page & Associates feels that it is appropriate that we come to you…
The value of our on-site counselling session with each employee following the separation interview cannot be overstated.
It is reassuring for your staff to know that they will not be alone over the next few weeks and months following the separation.
They will have their own Audrey Page & Associates Career Consultant providing personal counselling, developing career goals and helping them secure their next position in the shortest possible time.
At the on-site counselling session, we handle the most pressing issues that concern each individual:
- What is their personal reaction and feeling about the decision?What is their personal support network? How will they get home and who will be there to support them? If they are single and live alone, it helps to devise specific strategies;
- Planning how they can leave the company with dignity and grace and ensure their relationships with managers and colleagues remain positive;
- How to handle the first 48 hours: telling their family, friends and work colleagues;
- Help to develop and practise their “leaving story” – i.e. how they will answer the question, “Why did you leave?”
- Some cautionary advice on when and how to commence their job search; and
- A brief outline of what having an outplacement program means in practical terms.
Remember, ex-employees remain friends with your employees – how positive they feel will directly impact the morale of your remaining staff.
